The Buick Open brings the world's top golfers to Warwick Hills this July. Recent winners of this popular Tour stop include Kenny Perry, Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh, and Jim Furyk. The 2009 Buick Open is scheduled for July 27- Aug. 2 at Warwick Hills Golf and Country Club in Grand Blanc Township. Buick became the event's sponsor in 1959.

Warwick Hills is a 7,127-yard par 72 layout that features many straightaway holes with reachable par 5’s and some short par 4’s. The course was originally built on farmland, but with a strong GM/Buick influence the long, hard and fast golf course was awarded the first Buick Open PGA Tour Event in 1958 only one year after the course was born. The course took some criticisms out of the gate from the tour for being brutally long at over 7,200 yards long and for it's extremely firm turf conditions, and challenging design around the greens. In the mid 60's Warwick was fortunate to have hired Joe Lee complete a significant renovation and redesign of the original. Lee's changes improved the course design and playing conditions greatly. The redesign provides a strong test for the best players in the world, while allowing enjoyable playability to our membership with five sets of tees in all. The course we have now, with the tree-lined fairways, Joe Lee bunkering and large rolling greens, is right up there with all the finest courses in the Midwest.

Tiger Woods wasn't dominant, but he was good enough to win the Buick Open on Sunday in what might be the final staging of the tournament.
Woods shot 69 to finish 20 under at Warwick Hills Country Club to beat Roland Thatcher (64), Greg Chalmers (68) and John Senden (70) by three strokes.
Woods celebrated at the final two holes by tossing a golf ball to fans.
"I never do that, but today was different," said Woods, who recorded his 69th career PGA Tour win. "We're not coming back, and I wanted to thank all the people."
