2009 PGA Winner
Y.E. Yang became the first Asian-born player to win a major Sunday with a stunning performance in the PGA Championship, memorable as much for his clutch shots as the player he beat.
The night before he went toe-to-toe with Tiger Woods in the final group in the final round of the 91st PGA Championship, unheralded Y.E. Yangventured that his odds of winning were 70-1, seeing as Woods had 70 PGA Tour victories and he had one.
Most others had the odds much longer. Somewhere in the 200-1 range.
Yet Yang was relaxed and calm enough to smile and wave to television cameras, throw golf balls to the crowd and punch the air with fist pumps throughout the final round. He shocked the best player in the world Sunday at wind-whipped Hazeltine National Golf Club to become the first Asian-born player to win a men's major golf championship. After shaking hands with Woods, the South Korean saluted his clubs by lifting his golf bag above his head as the throng of spectators rimming the final hole roared with approval.

Padraig Harrington wins PGA Championship
Ireland's Padraig Harrington mounted another dramatic back-nine charge Sunday to win the PGA Championship at Oakland Hills, claiming consecutive major championships and three of the last six.
With clutch putting down the stretch, Harrington prevailed in a classic duel with Sergio Garcia to become the first European in 78 years to win the PGA Championship.
Harrington, 36, has stepped forcefully into the vacuum created when Tiger Woods was sidelined for the season because of a knee injury after winning the U.S. Open in June.
Harrington has done so with fierce closing skills under intense final-round major championship pressure.
"I know I love the idea of the back nine of a major on a Sunday," Harrington said. "I love it so much that I'm actually disappointed I'm seven months away from the next major, and I don't know what I'm going to do.
"I love the feeling of knowing that it's going to come down to the back nine, it's going to come down to who can do it under pressure in the last nine holes."
With Garcia sizing up a 12-foot putt for par at the 18th hole that he hoped would force a playoff, Harrington buried the winning putt.
With a steady, confident stroke, Harrington holed a 15-foot putt for par, igniting a roar across Oakland Hills as he gritted his teeth and pumped his right fist in jubilation.
Harrington joins Woods, Nick Price and Walter Hagen as the only players to win the British Open and PGA Championship in the same season. He's the first European to win the Wanamaker Trophy since Scotland's Tommy Armour in 1930. He's also the first European to win consecutive majors.
2007 PGA Winner
The world No. 1 had a big advantage in experience and confidence from earlier success. He was 12-for-12 in majors when holding at least a share of the lead after 54 holes. He was 23-for-23 overall when he led by more than one shot going into the final round. And he averaged 69.25 strokes in the final round of his major victories while his playing partners shot 72.92.
Wearing his customary red shirt in the triple-digit temperatures, Woods turned in a blue-collar performance at Southern Hills Country Club to win his 13th major championship. He shot a final-round 69 to finish at 8-under 272 and successfully defend his championship and win his fourth PGA.

When the putt dropped, the 30-year-old Woods threw his arms in the air, gave caddie Stevie Williams a tight bear-hug and soaked in the 12th major championship title of his unbelievable career.
