 UFC 80 will kick-off the New Year at the 11,000-seat Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle, England, on January 19, 2008.

BJ Penn, the Hawaiian superstar, will face submissions expert Stevenson in what is set to be the main event for the show in Newcastle. Las Vegas native Joe Stevenson is 32-7-0 and squares up against "The Prodigy" Penn (11-4-1) for the interim title.
 Penn beat Jens Pulver in June at the Ultimate Fighter 5 finale but prior to that had been beaten by Matt Hughes and Georges St-Pierre.
